Developing In-Hospital Hair Salons

Introducing Barrier-Free Design and Mobile Salon Chairs at In-Hospital Hair Salons

Since September 2002, we have been developing hair salons in designated cancer hospitals and other healthcare facilities. We offer a variety of support to make salon services accessible to patients with delicate hair problems due to illness and treatment, as well as to their families and healthcare workers.
The salons are barrier-free to make them accessible to patient using wheelchairs. They are also equipped with mobile salon chairs so that patients can remain seated, without moving to another chair, as they receive haircut and shampoo services. These chairs are well received by hospitals as an excellent example of consideration for patients.
We currently operate 36 barrier-free in-hospital salons equipped with mobile chairs across Japan (as of August 2024), addressing a variety of requests from patients.
